Why is it important to become a member of Faith Community Church?

The local church body is an expression of the universal church, the body of Jesus Christ, which is composed of all true believers in Christ. We believe that all the redeemed have been placed by God into the Church, the body of Christ, for worship, exhortation, fellowship, and service for the purpose of building up one another in the faith. As believers, it is important to commit to a local church where we can live out these purposes.

As we consider the importance of church membership, we reflect upon the words of Jesus recorded in John 13:34-35: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.  By this, all people will know that you are my disciples if you have love for another.” From beginning to end, the New Testament emphasizes this understanding of covenant relationships among local believers whose lives are sacrificially knit together to build up the body and to display and communicate the love of Christ to the world.
